Greetings to Pete, Daniel, the mysterious Glass Pinata and Kerry - good hearing from you.

We couldn´t get to a computer yesterday so no post. We had a good rest at Carrion de los Condes (but little sleep). We shared a meal with La Madrillena, La Morena (she is usually the life of the party but the previous night she was attacked by bed bugs! and had to have injections as they can make you very sick. They used a different albergue than us and any way Irish boy who had the next mattress had no trouble), Irish boy and Los Italianos. Sopa de lentejas (not as good as Dads), Merluza (excellent) and Flan (always good) washed down with a few bottles of red.

Last night we stayed in a hostal in Carrion de los Condes. One room with two beds and an onsuit (we felt like hillbillies in the big smoke, ¨look ma, a box what´s got moving pictures in it¨. The best sleep we´ve had since leaving Melbourne.
I´m writing this from an albergue in a flyspeck called Caldadilla de la Cruez after walking 20km over the remains of the Via Trajeda - this was the Roman road between Bordeaux (France) and Astorga (north west Spain) where they had (tin?) mines. The road is dead straight, unshaded, little water and rocky-¨no pain no gain¨, ¨whatever doesn´t kill you makes you stronger¨ (I must be getting really strong!). Another 10 km before we find a bed.
