From Santo Domingo

An easy walk today, no pain in feet or legs (could be the hangover). Disgracefull night, these are the only bits we can put together,

went for a drink....drinking......night time.....walking streets.....finally back at algergue but locked out......freezing.......Ray climbing through window excusa me, excusa me (replies in many languages, non needing translating!)....walking through open door of albergue ...oblivion.

I´ve sworn off alcohol (we were pushed out of the albergue last at 8am without a shower). I´ve abused my body (aka The Temple) enough, back to the straight and narrow. One of the guys gave us a spliff to get through the day but enough is enough!

Trying to download some photos- still can´t work it out. Only managed that fire picture and I have no idea where that came from.

Great albergue. Modern three storey building, great amenities, lounge with leather armchairs and plasma tv, great kitchen and dining facitities, lovely hot showers and all for free or donation (yeah as if..!). We´re staying in tonight!! Walked through the Ebro valley today, intensly cultivated with vineyards, wheat, beetroot etc. We saw some 1oth century vinoguardias - little stone bee-hive shaped huts (round with a tapering into a rounded roof). Most of the indigenous vegetation of mixed oak forest was cleared in the 9th and 10th century.( mainly Quercus pyrenius - the Pyrennian Oak, thought the nature nerds may be interested. Which reminds me we saw our first grey squirrel yesterday climbing up a pine trunk!)

We slept in till 5am! Feeling 100% this morning. We didn´t eat at all yesterday so looking forward to a decent bacon bocadillo with cafe con leche. A big one today. We managed to keep up tp most of the usuals yesterday- Hungarian boys, Liverpool guy, Bearded Italian. French couple etc. Todays a big one, we should do well!! Onwards. (sorry about the photos, I´ll get there).
