Ray and Ruben are 'walking the camino', six weeks from St Jean-Pied-de-Port in France across the Pyrenees into Spain and west to Finesterre, the western most point of Europe. 850 km across mountain ranges, endless plains, mesas, remote villages and the larger cities of northern Spain. It seemed a good idea twelve months ago!!!!
Hi Ruben,
ReplyDeleteI saw your blog address on the noticeboard at school today, and have spent the last hour reading your blog with awe.
Sounds marvellous but intimidating at the same time.
I hope you don't mind, but I have a friend from my last school who would really enjoy reading this.( for the last three summers she has entertained me with her travel blogs, as I sweltered in Melbourne). She and I have often discussed going on the walk you are on. It looks like fitness is a BIGger issue thsn I realised...Would you mind if I pass your blog address on to her? She was in Spain last summer. I read all about the food, architecture in Bilbao, Art, etc., but not much walking .
Your blog will either put her off going altogether, or feed her interest. I think I will need to know a bit more Spanish than I do now. I travelled to South America 3,000 years ago, but any Spanish I had has now gone through to the keeper, I'm afraid.
I hope you survive the last 300 or so km.
Hola, Liz Lacey
